IDEA / アイデア is a quarterly magazine dedicated to graphic design and typography. It was first published in 1953 by Seibundo Shinkosha Co.,Ltd, and continues to publish today.

This issue, number 166, features a beautiful cover by and article on the renowned Japanese designer Ikko Tanaka. Aside from a striking use of colour and form on the cover, there are some lovely spreads that feature, at size, some of the designer's most recognisable logos as well as photographs of some of these in application.

This special featured was published to coincide with the exhibition "Ikko Tanaka – Logotypes, Symbols and Signs, and is accompanied by the English and Japanese text "World Of Symbols" written by Motoo Nakanishi, a renowned designer and author of many books on Corporate Identity.
