An issue of "Graphic Design", a monthly magazine published by Diamond that focuses on graphic design and visual culture. It is distinctive in its proportionality (nearly square), and in its mix of papers.
This issue is super-rare, likely due to its 20 page feature on the design policy of the Tokyo 64 Olympics games. These pages reproduce faithfully, using spot colours and a lovely copper metallic ink detail, the various codified details of the Games, drawn from the brand book. This includes the Kamekura logo and its proportionality, its use cases and colour ways alongside typography and pictograms. This is the first of a tw0-part feature, with Issue 18 covering the design policy in use across various surfaces including uniforms and posters. Having had man issues of Graphic Design, this one is quite clearly one of the best.
