A special double issue of Graphic magazine from 1968, documenting various aspects of Japanese visual culture, from posters to advertising, from packaging to product design. It offers a wonderful historical introduction into the history of design in Japan and its recurring themes. This issue is ambitious in its scope, and is in the permanent collection at London's Japan house. This copy is in exceptional condition. There's a beautiful use of coloured inserts at the beginning and a mix of glossy and uncoated stocks throughout.

Features include: Traditional Japanese Pattern and Design; Japanese Family Crests; Japan's Younger Generation of Designers; Packaging Design in Japan. Articles are written by a host of well-regarded Japanese designers, these include Ikko Tanaka, Yusaku Kamekura, Kazumasa Nagai and Masaru Katzumie, amongst others.
